(1) Main Structure
Frame Structure: Typically constructed with steel or light steel frames, using H-beams, square tubes, and similar materials as the main framework. This ensures sufficient strength and stability to withstand the loads generated during cargo handling and external environmental forces such as strong winds or heavy snow. For example, in northern regions, the steel frame design must account for snow load during blizzards. Proper calculation of beam and column dimensions and spacing ensures structural safety.
Wall Materials: Common wall materials include color steel sheets, polyurethane sandwich panels, and rock wool sandwich panels. Color steel sheets are cost-effective and easy to install. Polyurethane sandwich panels provide excellent thermal insulation, making them suitable for cold chain logistics dock houses by minimizing energy loss. Rock wool sandwich panels offer superior fire resistance, making them ideal for facilities with high fire safety requirements.
(2) Openings and Sealing Design
Dock Door Design: The dock door dimensions are customized based on the height and width of commonly used transport vehicles, typically ranging from 3 to 4.5 meters in height and 3 to 4 meters in width, ensuring smooth truck entry and exit. Sealing strips or inflatable dock seals are installed around the door. When a truck docks, the sealing device tightly fits against the truck body, creating a closed space to block wind, rain, dust, and insects while reducing the exchange of hot and cold air.
Roll-Up Doors or High-Speed Doors: Roll-up doors are usually installed at the dock door opening. Roll-up doors are cost-effective and suitable for standard cargo handling
scenarios where opening speed is not critical. High-speed doors, with an opening speed of 1–2 meters per second, provide rapid open/close functionality, effectively minimizing indoor-outdoor air exchange. They are widely used in industries with strict environmental requirements, such as cold chain and pharmaceuticals. For example, in pharmaceutical cold storage dock houses, high-speed doors can open and close quickly to maintain a constant indoor temperature.
